Relationships Let's Talk About It!

173. Polyamory and Ethical Non-Monogamy

Listen Later

Polyamory specifically refers to people who have multiple romantic relationships at the same time. It does not mean any type of open relationship that may include more casual sexual partners. In many polyamorous relationships, each partner is aware of the other ones and transparency and honest communication is a vital part of healthy polyamorous relationships. In this podcast we discuss how polyamory works in relationships and discuss such questions as... What are the benefits and struggles of polyamory? How do partners decide to become non-monogamous?  What are some of the effects of polyamorous families on children? What is compersion? And we explore many more issues as well as misconceptions about polyamory.

In this episode, I have a conversation with Sam Del Vecchio and he shares his own experience of being in polyamorous relationships.  Sam is a somatic therapist, husband, father, farmer, carpenter, poet, and communitarian. He lives in Earthaven ecovillage, in the mountains of Western North Carolina, on occupied Cherokee land. H
