Michael Hawley actively researches the 1888 unsolved Jack the Ripper murders mystery, placing particular emphasis upon prime suspect Dr. Francis Tumblety. He is the author of Dr. Francis Tumblety & the Railway Ripper (2023), Jack the Ripper Suspect Dr. Francis Tumblety (2018), and The Ripper’s Haunts (2016). He is coauthor with true crime expert Alan R. Warren on the nonfiction book Jack the Ripper: The Interviews (2020), and is a participating author of Who Was Jack the Ripper? (2019). Michael has also authored well over twenty research articles in true crime journals, such as Ripperologist.
