My name is Melquea Smith, (pronounced "Mehl-kwee-yah" ♥) my pronouns are she/her and I’m a Black, award-winning, published, children’s book illustrator based in New York.

I am an active member of SCBWI, student of Chris Oatley’s The Oatley Academy, and an admin of #BlackCreatorsHeadquarters.
