Summary

Cinder makes her way through the palace with the battle sounds growing fainter and fainter the closer she gets to the throne room.

Queen Levana has lost her most prized possession: Her beauty. And without it, she is ruthless and on her last life.

Thorne remains comedic, even in times of war, but is it just a cover for his true fears? He's forced to admit to Cinder that he doesn't know what happened to Cress, that he's been locked up with Levana for hours, and that she has him standing on the ledge as bait for Cinder.

But just when the fight seems easy, Levana reveals more truths to Cinder than she was ready to accept.
