Our guest today is, Chris Biasutti. Chris is an entrepreneur, coach, and speaker who works with individuals and entrepreneurs on creating change and growing themselves and their businesses. I’ve known Chris for years now through the world of real estate investing. What blew me away about Chris is the adventure he’s been in the past couple years. He’s had incredible career heights, gone through intense breakdowns, and has had breakthroughs in authenticity, fulfilment, and living his dream life! At the time of this recording, he’s on his sailboat with his young family in the middle of South Pacific. New Zealand to be exact. He made this massive lifestyle change over a year ago, letting go of his business and life back home in Vancouver (for now) to take some space, reconnect with himself, his family, and live a dream he’s had for a very long time.

    • Quotes:
“Every time I would grind I was wearing myself down, I was wearing my soul down, I was wearing down what I call my aliveness. I was basically killing myself slowly.”

“It was because I was continuing to do something I was forcing myself to do, it wasn’t something I wanted to do. It wasn’t something I was connected and so I was disconnected from myself.”

“I didn’t know what was next when I look back and reflect on it now. In that, I was in this place of pain and unhappiness, and I was really struggling, I was stuck. I couldn’t see myself where I am now, back then.”

“Who am I if I’m not this? That was coming from a place of ‘if I am not this’ then I’m a failure. People are going to think I’m a failure. If I let go of this, I won’t be good enough for the people in my life.”

“Things don’t really make you happy. If you’re looking to things for happiness, it’s never enough. The happiness comes from within me.”

[On Phillip McKernan’s One Last Talk]
“I’ve spoken to rooms of 500 of people about real estate so I thought this would be a piece of cake. I got up there and I had nothing to say. That’s when I realized how disconnected I was.”

“Just letting the feeling of disconnection in is connecting.”

“Allowing myself to feel the pain, I remember saying ‘I’m feeling really shitty right now, but it’s actually amazing to feel something.'”

“I just sat in that discomfort and in time it began to dissipate. Eventually it got replaced by warmer feelings.”

“For the first time in my life I connected to the feeling of love. And then I found the courage to make some changes.”

“The only way for me to actually be there for everybody else in my life is that I need to be connected myself, and in order for me to be connected I need space.”

“I started to let go of things that I felt were not serving me in my life.”

“In the pain of that moment I first discovered the meaning I had been searching for. It is OK to be unhappy. It is OK to hurt. It is OK to feel. It is OK to be me.”

“It’s impossible to live in a small space with people whether they’re your family or not unless there’s some connection.”

“We all have these painful feelings, these good feelings, we can all relate to them, and what makes us all different is the way we experience them.”

“When we share a piece of ourselves with someone else, we’re also recognizing a piece of them.”
