18: Have a Bigger Reason Than Wanting to Look Good with Matt Lowe.

Listen Later

You've probably heard the saying, what gets measured gets managed.
If you don't pay attention to the path you're on and what you're doing, how will you get to where you want to go?
With all the technology that we're blessed with today, it's easier now more than ever to keep track.
But for personal trainers, it can be hard to keep track of what your clients are doing for the 164 hours that you don't see them.
Today's guest wanted to make a bigger difference.  He wanted to remove geographic barriers and work with people all over the world.
Meet Matt Lowe, Founder of Matt Lowe Fitness and LifeStyle Social.

Matt started in fitness at the young age of thirteen to "keep out of trouble".
By the age of fourteen, he had won his first bodybuilding competition, Mr. High School Colorado.
Through life and business, Matt has followed the motto of "Fail Forward Fast".
He has what he calls his trinity of wellness: Mindset, Nutrition, and Exercise.
"Realize that every failure is an opportunity for success. We all have things in life that are going to make us fall off our goal-oriented roadmap and that's ok."
Matt has over 19 years in the fitness industry.
In this episode you're going to learn a lot about Matt Lowe:
What it was like being the middle of five children
How he lost everything and who stuck with him through it all
How he helped someone overcome incredible odds
Why Matt says that you have to know your "Why"
The "Why" behind Matt and LifeStyle Social

LifeStyle Social is integrated with over 200 wearables like Healbe Gobe.
Matt wants this to be automated and PROACTIVE instead of reactive.
Instead of falling off, eating pizza, and logging that you ate the pizza, you would go on and say, I'm craving pizza and see some healthy alternatives to pizza that would satisfy your craving.
One resource he mentions for recipes is BigOven.
Matt goes on to say that it's ok to have pizza, cheeseburgers, and ice cream in MODERATION.
The book Matt recommends is Create Your Own Future by Brian Tracy
Takeaways:
Fitness is a way of living.  I'm here as a resource for young listeners thinking about getting into personal training, and I mentor a lot of college students that are in school for Exercise Science. We're doing some networking events at Thrive Workplace off of Park and Market in Denver.  You can connect with me at LifeStyle Social and Matt Lowe Fitness and on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Please let me know what you think in the comments below and leave a review on iTunes or just tell Matt what a great job he did with the interview!
