“If we are going to realize Jesus’ purpose for us on earth, we have to be willing to go to the less fortunate. We must develop the courage (like Jesus) to go to the places where the hurting are.”

These are the words of Dr. Felix Gilbert, the Director of the Urban Initiative at Denver Seminary and pastor of Restoration Christian Fellowship Church in Aurora, Colorado. Reaching the marginalized was integral to Jesus’ mission, yet there is often a lapse within believers and churches in knowledge (or desire) about how to go forth in doing so.
