Have you ever found yourself wanting to pivot in your career but being held back for one reason or another? Yeah, me too! Today’s topic, pivoting, was inspired in part by my recent podcast episode with Felicia Romero (episode 14), and my goal is to share how my professional pivots were necessary in order for me to grow and gain experience. I share these pivots – my major professional pivots over the last twenty-one years, including my most recent pivot from a few weeks ago – in hopes to inspire you that your greatest opportunities could be on the other side of your pivot you may be resisting. To help guide you through your decision to professionally pivot or not, I offer these five questions I learned from Jamie Kern Lima at Kacia Ghetmeri’s EmpowerHER Live:
Remember pivoting can be a blessing in disguise. I am not saying it is easy, but I am saying it could be what your future self is waiting for you to do. I hope by sharing my professional pivots, it will inspire you to know and trust you are stronger than you may believe.
