Your Cyclical Nature

18. Transitions -- Navigating Change with the Wisdom of Cycles

Listen Later

In this episode, Teresa Biggs, DOM (Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Biologist, & Advanced Yoga Teacher) explores the sacred terrain of transitions—the thresholds we move through in our bodies, lives, and the natural world. A liminal space between no-longer & not-yet.  Together,   we’ll look at:

✨ The transitions within the menstrual cycle

✨ The shifts across life phases

✨ The turning of the earth’s seasons

✨ The passages of life changes we all experience

Teresa shares how each cycle connects to an archetypal season and the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, offering a fresh perspective on the emotional and spiritual experiences of change.

We’ll also explore the element of Earth as a stabilizing guide through transitions, and Teresa will give you three practical ways to root into the Earth Element's wisdom:

🌱 Food therapy to nourish and ground

🌱 Yoga asana to stimulate the Earth meridians

🌱 Sound frequency to harmonize body and spirit

This episode is a gentle reminder that transitions are not detours — they are thresholds into deeper embodiment, resilience, and trust in life’s unfolding.

To help orient you into your Spleen and Stomach meridians, here is a location description for each:

🌿 ✨ Spleen Meridian (SP)
Think of this as the body’s inner pathway of nourishment and stability.

  • It starts at the big toe,
  • Runs up the inside of the foot and ankle,
  • Continues along the inner leg and thigh,
  • Then moves along the belly and chest,
  • Ending at the side of the ribs about a hand width below the armpit.

This pathway supports digestion, grounding, and the ability to transform food and life experiences into energy.

Stomach Meridian (ST)
This one is the outer pathway of digestion and vitality.

  • It begins just below the eye,
  • Travels down the face, jaw, and throat,
  • Moves along the chest and belly,
  • Runs down the outside of the thigh and outer shin,
  • And ends at the second toe.

This pathway fuels energy, appetite for food and life, and helps us move forward with strength.
