In this world, Ghosts are real and they scare people. Our heroine, Chess, is a complete mess but a warrior nonetheless. We didn’t get to encounter any sex between Chess and the guy we wanted her to bone but we assume it’s on the way later on in the series. What we do get is a colorful world with drug addiction, ghosts, and condoms! The use of menstrual blood opens the door for a discussion of periods and period sex.
