I posted a reel (on Instagram), which is about whether you've been expecting to use letter names or letter sounds when teaching your child to read. I had a comment on that real, which was 'they're getting that at school. And most of the time we can already learn these things from videos.' This got me thinking about who's responsibility is actually to teach children to read. And what role do parents actually have in this reading process?
