Patry Cortes (she/her) and Laura Hoyos (she/her) are a mother-daughter duo from Columbia. Patry is a doula, acupuncturist, Chinese medicine practitioner, and mother of four. Laura is a psychologist, yoga instructor, and mother of two. Together with Laura's husband Alex, they lead Ancestral Knowledge, which combines the power of indigenous wisdom and ancient ceremonies with grounded and easy-to-learn tools that help people radically harmonize their lives and live with more clarity and wellbeing.
In this episode, we discuss:
- What brought Laura and Patry to womb wisdom and healing and how they got started on this path
- Why it's vital that women (and people) understand womb wisdom and healing today
- The ways Laura and Patry have seen plant medicine support people on their healing journeys and spiritual awakenings
- The impact that capitalism and white supremacy have had and are still having on plant medicine
- How white westerns can work with plant medicine with reciprocity, in a respectful way that honors indigenous medicine carriers and their lineages
