Since we’ve been talking about the science of the brain, today’s episode is a throwback from episode 62 with Dr. Dan Siegel. He explains the science behind when and why we lose control of our emotions. Fortunately, Dr. Siegel not only talks about knowing what it looks like to flip your lid, but also how to recover. Knowing what triggers you, and understanding how you can stay present with compassion and empathy, helps to build a strong foundational relationship with your child. When they can rely on you to stay calm, you encourage them to flex their own compassion muscle.
