While we might prefer a "nice" religion of comfort, the true Gospel is a radical message that threatened the status quo enough to make Jesus' own neighbors want to kill him. A "beige" or lukewarm faith inspires no one; rather, we are called to set the world on fire with a conviction that demands total sacrifice. If your faith isn't causing some friction or opposition in your life, you might be "doing it wrong," for authentic love is always a challenge to the world.
