It's that time of year again. My traditional 'I wasn't going to do a festive episode' episode.
This has become a tradition that I wasn't consciously aware of. Until I went back and found a previous episode, Some Highly Sensitive Struggles at Christmas. It turns out that this episode, like that one, is the result of demand...
Ross got in touch on Twitter and asked whether I was planning to do a show about the festive season and its overwhelm. I wasn't but then as I started to jot a few ideas down the outline soon emerged.
I wanted to take a positive approach and not simply talk about all the things many introverts and HSPs hate or struggle with. That's been done by plenty of others (including myself in that previous show).
So I want to explore ways in which introverts and Highly Sensitive People can own this time of year, make choices to make it work for them, and ultimately thrive within what truly is (when you scratch off many layers of chaos and madness) a time of calm, peace, and reflection.
In this episode you will discover:
* How your energy bank account works, and why it's important to use it
* The 3 big expenses many introverts and HSPs face this time of year
* 7 things we can experiment with if we want to enjoy the festive period
* Why you have more control than you maybe think you do
* How to approach travel, shopping centres, and gift giving among the plethora of other demands
* The most important truth to remember when you're doing things you don't necessarily want to do

I mentioned the impact of the 5 Days to Your Best Year Ever course, registration for which closes on 15th December. It's become a big part of my annual December tradition, structuring how I reflect on the past 12 months and look forward to the next year. I cannot recommend it highly enough if you want to make a dent on your most important goals; those things you've been meaning to change for years. This course is the ultimate companion.
