Once upon a time, James Gunn was fired by Marvel, hired by DC and then re-hired by Marvel. Who else could direct a Guardians of the Galaxy movie? It's hard to imagine someone else filling his shoes and I suppose Marvel thought the same thing. Following the events of Endgame and the Disney+ Christmas special, our Guardians find themselves racing to save a vital member of their crew and coming head to head with The High Evolutionary. And Adam Warlock. And The High Evolutionary's mad scientist creations (War Pig!).
