The Lion's Den For Business Men

188: How fathers can be the CEO of their families

Listen Later

Do you run your family? Or do you let your wife do the heavy lifting?

In this episode, we pull back the curtains in the lives of the business men we coach to show you that, in reality, most high-powered men at work willingly give up their power at home.

That makes your wife the CEO, CFO, CTO, COO, CMO, and Chief Fun Officer of your family. With her taking up all those roles, that barely leaves men the role of “Daddy.”

The goal of this episode isn’t to beat you up; it’s to wake you up to the different roles you can and should be fulfilling at home. We’ll tell you about times we got it right and times we totally failed. We’ll also share encouraging examples of men acting as CEO of their family that you can follow.

You can do this, guys!

Believe it or not, your wife wants you to make a decision, even though she may act like she doesn’t sometimes.

Your wife wants you to be the CEO of your home, even if she currently holds the reins.

As the CEO, you have similar duties to perform strategically at home that you’re already performing at work if you’re a CEO or C-level executive. You need to be the visionary, the provider, the role model, and more for your family.

If you hand off the role as leader of your family to your wife, this episode’s for you. If you provide for your family with money, but not with your presence at home, listen up. And if you’re not as strategic about home life as you are with your business, you’re in the right place.
