At what point does your hard work go from being an asset to a liability?
My guest today has the answer to that question. Jarrod Warren runs a top-ranked financial service in Dallas and Houston, Texas and also runs a highly ranked podcast called Success 101 Podcast.
As a small-town boy who wanted to go big, Jarrod put the work ethic he inherited from his father to move out of his comfort zone as quickly as possible. He soon became the National New Client Leader for the 8,000-member financial services firm he worked for by bringing in 177 new clients in a year.
By the time he got married, his hard work was paying dividends and taking its toll.
Work will work on you if you’re not careful with it.
Desperation drove his hard work, he tells me in this episode, but the desperation never left no matter his results.
“When things were good, I couldn’t let my foot off the gas,” he says. “I was in a big state of self sabotage just trying to crank it out and muscle it all the time.”
Is your hard work paying off? Or are you paying for your hard work?
For Jarrod, his hard work made him a success on paper, but led him to rock bottom at the same time as he sacrificed some things he couldn’t get back.
If your hard work stems from the wrong mindset, it can absolutely destroy you.
In this episode, Jarrod teaches how to determine if your hard work is noble or self-sabotaging. He tells his incredible story of hitting rock bottom before learning to make hard work labor for him, not against him.
If you find your hard work taking a toll on your body and your family, listen to this episode.
