1709 Samuel Johnson was norn on 18th September, 1709., He was often called Dr Johnson and regarded as Father of Dictionary. He was an English writer who made lasting contributions as a poet, playwright, essayist, moralist, critic, biographer, editor and lexicographer.

1851: The New York Times was founded as the New-York Daily Times on September 18, 1851.
