Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! (Amos 5:24). What a contrast to the image we tend to attribute to justice – a scale with weights hanging in balance. God’s words ring clear throughout the Scriptures – do right, defend the oppressed, give to the poor. Justice and right-living go hand-in-hand.
