Dorothea Puente looked like the kind, neighborly grandmother anyone would want to live next door. The woman who had suffered through an abusive childhood was now in the business of helping those in the community who needed it. But what her neighbors didn’t know is that she was murdering tenants in her boarding house and then continuing to cash their social security checks. Eventually, she would be caught and charged with the murders of nine people and sentenced to a life behind bars. Until the day she died, Dorothea Puente insisted that she was innocent and that her murder victims died of natural causes.
