Let's be honest, we all spend way too much in the month of December. Between holidays, gift-giving, restaurants, alcohol and kids activities, we look at our bank balance and credit card statement after Christmas and think "Holy Crap!" 

I had an epiphany while I was away on holidays, that I just had way too much stuff. I packed too many clothes, I brought too many things with me to Whistler for the ski trip and when I got home, I realized there were so many things that were just collecting dust in my house. So I sold them. I saw an opportunity and I took advantage of it. 

I discuss the implications of NOT selling stuff and hanging onto things that you aren't using, and how that money could be better spent on your future.
