"We are fed with the idea of "Happily ever after", the price and the princess... however we don't have real examples in our society on the fact that you have to work on relationships. And that work in itself is wonderfully connecting" - Dr Sandra Taylor, Emotionally Focused Therapist and the coordinator of BEFT is joining Eniko Toth on the podcast today.
-- Today Sandra and I will dig into the cycles we get into in our relationships on a regular basis. The negative cycles where we can get triggered for little obvious reason and lead to familiar arguments. Today we will discuss how to get out of these negative cycles, slow down and reconnect with our partners. We will talk about attachment theory and the map that can guide us in creating, healing and sustaining love.
-- Dr Sandra Taylor is the coordinator of the British Emotionally Focused Therapy Centre (also known as BEFT) - a group of professional therapists who have come together on a voluntary basis to form a community of counsellors and therapists interested in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Sandra`s interest in relationships has been a constant in her life and work. She originally trained as an Occupational Therapist and worked in a range of mental health settings before moving into Person-Centred counselling. Sandra has worked as a counsellor and then educator of counsellors in university, college and charity settings. She has been involved with EFT training in Britain, Dubai and the USA and is currently focusing on building up EFT training in Britain.
