Regan MacNeil is innocence defiled, a child transformed into a vessel of blasphemy, her voice echoing with something ancient and cruel. Valak, by contrast, is desecration disguised in holy robes, a demon that wears the face of faith and twists devotion into dread. Regan reveals the weakness of the human spirit, while Valak exploits it with malevolent precision. One embodies horror from within, the soul violated and corrupted beyond recognition. The other manifests horror from without, the sacred perverted and turned into a mockery of salvation. Together, they form faith’s worst nightmare, a world where belief itself becomes the doorway to damnation, and the holy becomes the most terrifying thing of all.
