You may not think of this as a festive favourite, but Disney classic The Aristocats was released in December 1970 and makes a great family movie to kick off the Christmas season.

When retired opera singer Madame Bonfamille decides to leave her riches to her beloved cats she unwittingly sparks a chain of events which result in pampered house cat Duchess and her three kittens having to find their way home through the French countryside and Parisian rooftops, with the help of rough around the edges alley cat, Thomas O'Malley.
