George Orwell's 1984 is depicted through excerpts from the novel. The text portrays a dystopian future ruled by the Party, which maintains absolute control through constant surveillance (telescreens), propaganda (manipulation of history), and the suppression of independent thought (Thoughtcrime). The protagonist, Winston Smith, rebels against the Party's oppressive regime, seeking freedom and truth in a world where war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength. His rebellion leads him to a forbidden love affair and ultimately, to capture and re-education within the terrifying Ministry of Love. The excerpts also explore the Party's manipulation of language (Newspeak) to control thought.
