In this episode of 1Dime Radio, I am joined again by the Hegelian philosopher Dr. Cadell Last, founder of the educational YouTube channel and platform called PhilosophyPortal (which has plenty of fantastic introductory lectures and podcasts on theory and philosophy). In this episode, we discuss the notion of “Christian Atheism” popularized by Slavoj Zizek and pioneered by Hegel.
Cadel Last’s upcoming Philosophy Portal course focuses on Christian Atheism and starts October 20th, you can sign up here:https://philosophyportal.online/christian-atheism

In this episode of 1Dime Radio, I am joined by Keegan Kjeldsen, host of The Nietzsche Podcast/Untimely Reflections, to talk about the powerful complementary insights between Nietzsche and Machiavelli, as well as other thinkers such as Karl Marx and Ibn Khaldun. We also discuss the ways in which Nietzsche's work is often misunderstood, appropriated, or diluted by people on the right and left.
In The Backroom segment on Patreon, Keegan and I critique Jordan Peterson’s understanding of Nietzsche and the ways in which popular “Petersonian” YouTube channels such as “Academy of Ideas” and “Thoughts on Thinking” distort Nietzche. It was an exhilarating episode; you don't want to miss it!

In this episode of 1Dime Radio, I am joined by Victor Bruzzone of the Pill Pod (Plastic Pills Podcast) to discuss forms of radical democracy such as Sortition - “the lot system” in which representatives are selected at random by lottery. It was used in Ancient Athens and for a time also in the Republics of Florence, Venice and Genoa.
Sortition is not the same thing as “direct democracy,” such as assembly (which was also used in Athenian Democracy). The Marxist Paul Cockshott also proposes the sortition system in his book, “Towards a New Socialism.”
In The Backroom, Victor proposes his own variant of sortition, which he has been working on, which I found quite fascinating and innovative. You don’t want to miss it.

In this episode of 1Dime Radio I am joined by Plastic Pills, the theory Youtuber/philosopher extraordinaire who has some of the best and most artistic videos on philosophy, theory, and politics. I know the title says “postmodern neomarxism”, and we do talk about that, but in this conversation Pills and I talk about a bunch of random stuff. It's been a highly requested collab, and I have been talking to Pills for a minute, so we made this happen. More to come!

F.D Signifier comes on the show to discuss the Kendrick Lamar vs Drake rap beef and his upcoming video on it.
This episode may be a bit of a departure from the usual content you see on the 1Dime Radio podcast as of late, but FD Signifier and I are both hip-hop heads and have admired each other’s work for quite a while now, so this collab has been a long time coming!
