About 3 days back, while teaching a friend how to play Astral wars, I stumbled upon something pretty ridiculous. What's that you ask? Well, I discovered I haven't played the tutorial... which is hilarious because I'm already a pro player. It's partly not my fault as the tutorial came out a bit after we started testing. Back then, we had to learn the good ol' way: by smashing wires and cables together until the circuit worked. By that, I mean, get butchered both by AI in solo mode and other testers in multiplayer mode until you finally learn and start biting back. I remember racking up an interesting number of consecutive losses because I was too stubborn to just sit down, use my brain and strategize before playing again. No, that's too boring for a brute like me. I learn better by DOING.. even if it means getting beaten bloody till unconsciousness lol. Did I get a stain in my record by having a crazy amount of losses? Yes. But did I finally learn and become arguably the best player? YES! So you see, the end justified the means in this case. Even if it means getting teased and reminded of my dark history by the a$holes at the discord server every now and then, it was totally worth it!
