The episode took place on August 17th, 2023. Never in American history has school K-12 school started on Thursday. It was a bend for a lot us, especially parents. My daughter had been ecstatic since July to go back to school and we shared a great 'first day' together. Like many parents, we are concerned about the change of times concerning our kids. Child safety, adequate education and supplies, club activities, graduation and so on have been taken lightly by school districts more and more. Also the arrival of LGTBQ and gender identity curriculum, critical race theory and the plague of yearly school shootings are drastic concerns. I believe we all want our kids to have a great experience going to school. Unfortunately, that experience varies and finding middle or common ground seems become more and more impossible.
