Frank Stanley Reasoner was born on September 16, 1937, in Spokane Washington. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on October 15, 1956. On July 12, 1965, Reasoner led a reconnaissance patrol in the Quảng Ngãi Province, facing a fierce onslaught from an estimated 50 to 100 Viet Cong insurgents. Amidst mounting casualties, Reasoner exemplified extraordinary bravery and compassion by attending to his wounded radio operator, offering care and support amidst the chaotic environment. It was during this engagement he made a courageous last stand, making the ultimate sacrifice. Reasoner was killed in action at the age of 27. This is his story.
