Psalm 51 is a classic and well-known Psalm of David, written after Nathan had confronted King David following the king’s adultery (and more!) with Bathsheba. Many pieces of the Church’s liturgy have flowed out of this psalm with the power that it speaks to confession, forgiveness, and the possibilities with God of where a truly penitent and grace-filled life can lead.
