If we truly want a mind that is rescued, redeemed, and restored, we've got to look at some of the coping mechanisms that live deep in our subconscious mind and end up controlling our thoughts, feelings, and behavior. For me, one of those strategies was people pleasing. I know, on the outside, people pleasing may seem like a kind, compassionate, and even others-focused way to live, but there's a darker side hiding underneath this deceptive coping mechanism, and I truly believe the Lord wants to bring powerful healing to that obscure corner of our heart and mind.
