Religious Power…

-Devours the needy and marginalized

-Builds up those who already have

-Invests in what will pass away

What can we do?

A. Guard our hearts against power and oppression

B. Look out for and Care for the marginalized/hurting

C. Focus on Eternal, not temporary

2. The Power of Sacrificial Giving (what we need the most)

A. Trust in Jesus’ Sacrifice FOR You

B. Give yourself fully to Jesus in worship and obedience

-Dangerous Tithing- give God 10%; keep the rest

-Dangerous Religion- give God Sunday morning; keep the rest

-Biblical Giving- give God everything; invest a consistent portion in local church

-Biblical Worship- give God everything; invest a consistent portion in local church

C. Account for all your money/resources

-Responsibility- Someone will control your money

-Budget- Do I know where it’s going now?

-Legacy- Do I know where it’s going in the future?

D. Begin giving now- consistently and joyfully

E. Build toward additional, sacrificial giving

F. Create margin for extra, spontaneous giving
