The new corona virus started circulating in the country exactly one year ago. The first case of the disease was identified on February 25, after a traveler from Italy arrived in the city of Sao Paulo.

According to a study by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, the country started to record the first confirmations of community transmission of the virus in the 2nd half of March 2020.
.
Since then, we are experiencing sad scenes in public health, with the absence of essential resources and infrastructure to save lives and control the pandemic; and, social crises – such as, for example, the resistance of many individuals and groups (mostly young people), who refuse to heed the appeals of the scientific community, to wear masks, maintain social distance and avoid crowding to prevent the spread of the virus.

The month of February was marked by the "accelerated race" in search of vaccines throughout the national territory.

After a real soap opera between governments, Federal and State, as well as the purchase and distribution of them, we witnessed several parallel episodes of corruption and embezzlement during the pandemic. And we also found an unacceptable behavior by some citizens, who try to circumvent the vaccination rules.

Since the second half of January (beginning of vaccination in the country) we have been surprised by the lamentable attempt to practice the traditional 'Brazilian way'; In other words: TAKING THE ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS OVER YOUR OWN BENEFIT – this is a sad characteristic that internationally denigrates the image of our people.

According to the National Immunization Plan, prepared by the Ministry of Health, the elderly and people with disabilities, residents of long-term institutions, health professionals, indigenous villagers, among others, are among the priority groups. However, states and municipalities can “adapt prioritization according to the local reality”.
.
That is where the danger lies.... there are people who ARE NOT part of the priority groups but who see themselves as having the right to take the vaccine before others; as they are directly or indirectly linked to politicians, business people or influencers in the local community.
Approximately 3000 complaints of “fura-filas” have already been registered in Brazil. However, this bad example is also happening in other countries around the world, where government officials, public figures, members of hospital councils, celebrities, among others are protagonists of this deplorable attitude.

But you may be wondering: What does this have to do with CORRUPTION, SUBORB & MONEY LAUNDERING? And I tell you: simply EVERYTHING!
CORRUPTION is all about undoing something that has been established; in this case a social norm that defined immunization for priority groups.
In the current situation we are living in, whoever is circumvented this norm is directly submitting to an act of BRIBERY and consequently corrupting themselves to gain advantage, where one person is favored by harming another, most of the time for money.

If you go to our glossary and review the concept of MONEY LAUNDERING, you will notice that the act of hiding, disguising the existence and moving illicitly originated resources, generating profit with it, is part of a chain in which small individual attitudes feed this criminal process that multiplies and harms the community so much!

Start to observe more critically how things happen around you, think ‘OUTSIDE THE BOX’! Start connecting the dots and see how one thing has to do with another... Make a reflection!
