In 2 Chronicles Chapter 26, we follow the rise of King Uzziah, a leader who began his reign by seeking God and walking in obedience. Because of this, God gave him success, strength, and favor. But over time, Uzziah’s heart grew proud, and he crossed a line that led to devastating consequences. His life is a sobering warning: the higher God lifts you, the more humble you must remain.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

✅ Prosperity through Seeking God:
Uzziah starts his reign strong, doing what is right in the Lord’s eyes and seeking God under Zechariah’s guidance (v. 5). As long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.

✅ Innovation and Influence:
Uzziah builds cities, strengthens his army, and becomes well-known for his power and accomplishments (vv. 6–15). He embodies excellence—but success can become a trap when it’s no longer submitted to God.

✅ Pride and Overstepping Boundaries:
In his strength, Uzziah tries to burn incense in the temple—something only priests were allowed to do (vv. 16–18). When confronted, he becomes angry instead of repentant, and God strikes him with leprosy.

✅ Isolation and Legacy:
Though he was once a great king, Uzziah spends the rest of his life isolated, cut off from the temple of the Lord (vv. 19–21). His legacy is one of potential tainted by pride.

Are you seeking God with the same passion in success as you did in the struggle?

Who in your life can lovingly correct you—and are you listening?

Uzziah’s story reminds us that spiritual success is not just about starting well, but finishing with humility. Let your growth be marked not only by power and influence, but by dependence on the One who gave it.
