A true titan among men, Fred Burgard is one of the hardest workers and most brilliant people you may have the opportunity to meet. After becoming a follower of Jesus during the Jesus movement in the early 70s and graduating with a Doctorate of Ministry from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Fred has lived an incredible life of ministry, service, and living every day as an outpouring of God's love. In 2004, Fred and his wife Sharon, alongside Paul and Nancy Cordes, started Shadow Rest Ministries, a retreat center, which Fred hand-built, created for pastors, missionaries, couples, and individuals to find a quiet place to retreat, rest and be revived. In 2019, Fred and Sharon felt led by God to donate the property to Prodigy Leadership Academy to serve as its permanent home. In the time since, Fred has been instrumental in the development and maintenance of the school property, he currently serves on its board of directors as well, and he has also been employed at Saint Francis Hospital as a hospice chaplain for the past six years.
