With so many people talking about freedom right now (whether freedoms are under attack, etc.), we thought we’d take a stab at unraveling the common understanding of Freedom to see if there might be a better, truer sense of freedom that would lead to wholeness and life.
What is freedom? Why are some afraid of losing freedoms? How have some expressions of Christianity led people to literally take up arms in protest of governmental restrictions for public health? Does freedom mean I get to do whatever I want? Does freedom only have to do with individual rights? (Does Christianity even have anything to do with “Individual Rights”??)
Or, is freedom more of a collective/communal reality? And then, what might be the best use of freedom in the midst of a global pandemic?
We seek answers to these tough questions in our second episode of Unraveling with Tom & Pete.
