In this episode, I take it back to where my entrepreneurial journey began before I even realized it. I introduce my childhood as being just the typical gal, raised with a big blended family and I go over my experiences in my first job and my first side true hustle that gave me a taste of entrepreneurship and freedom.
I share a little on my journey through college when I studied marketing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas straight out of high school. Then we dive into how I met my first mentor, and how we grew his small hole-in-the-wall restaurant to being a distributor of products on the Las Vegas Strip. I didn’t know it at the time, but my experiences in working alongside my mentor helped shape who I am today. We had to get out of our comfort zones and take action to keep his business afloat and we had no idea what we were doing. The game of entrepreneurship wasn’t about the money, it was exciting and fun!
Looking back it's easy to see that entrepreneurship takes a lot of grit, and determination -- and almost a sense of confidence. Not the confidence that you know exactly what you’re doing. Instead, the confidence in knowing that even though you don’t have a clue what you’re doing quite yet, YOU DO have the confidence and willpower to FIGURE IT OUT.
