The One Health model explores the impacts of environmental degradation on animals and humans, especially with respect to the emergence of novel infectious diseases and the evolution and transmission of existing pathogens.
Today's conversants are professors Bill Pan, The Elizabeth Brooks Reid and Whitelaw Reid Associate Professor of Population Studies at the Nicholas School of the Environment as well as Associate Professor of Global Environmental Health at the Duke Global Health Institute, and Dr Chris Woods, Executive Director of the Hubert-Yeargan Center for Global Health and professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pathology at Duke University.
