The great jubilation...this is what He came for!

The year of Jubilee in Leviticus 25:8-55  God commanded that in the 50th year all debts were to be cancelled, all land be returned to original owners and the freedom of indentured servants. Through this, all Israelite clans got a chance to start over and break the chain of generational poverty and enslavement. But as Jeremiah 34;14 shows us, human beings would not always honor God's word and they would take the slaves back, dishonoring the covenant with God. We as people do not have the capacity and means to proclaim freedom amongst ourselves, who would eat up the cost? 

 Clearly only God has the faithfulness and love to set his people free. God sent His Son Jesus to proclaim freedom from every debts...and he paid the price! Because of the Gospel He proclaimed and fulfilled in Luke 4:16-20. The Anointed one came and did the will of His Father so that the blind see, the poor are rich, prisoners are set free. So that we can declare and proclaim the year of the Lord's favor in every aspect of our lives!
