There's a great book for German learners who already have a decent grasp of the language to practice. 

Märchen und Erzählungen für Anfänger, by: H. A. Guerber

Fairy Tales for Beginners is a book specifically written and designed for learners of German. They don't write stories like this nowadays. It is worth your while to check out.

With all the repetition you are likely to remember more grammar and vocabulary. The author continually makes reminders of initial vocab. and grammar in a rather flowing way. Yes, it is redundant and no native speakers would likely ever read a book like this to their own kids. (Tell me if I'm mistaken.) However, it does serve those of us who wish to learn German and do so in the environment of elementary readings.
