The New Teacher Success Network Podcast

2. Learning to say no

Listen Later

In today’s episode we are going to learn to say NO to over extending yourself.

You know why so many of us become teachers?  Because we were good students.  And you know what good students do?  They over-achieve.  You know why this same philosophy won’t work as a teacher? - Because it causes burn out!

Of course you have to do your fair share of the heavy lifting.  You are part of a team after all, but be very careful about taking on too much while you are new.  Going to school, perfecting your craft, and finishing your credential and course work are a full time job in and of itself.

Listen for some tips of how to find the balance.
