In 2 Nephi 9, Jacob teaches one of the clearest and most powerful explanations of the Atonement in all of scripture. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we are saved from spiritual death, and through His Resurrection, we are saved from temporal death. Jacob also gives us strong warnings about the things that can pull us away from God, but he reminds us of something beautiful, Christ is the keeper of the gate, and He loves those who come unto Him.
