This week I am interviewing Bobbi Jo O'Neal. She is currently serving as the elected coroner in Charleston County, Charleston, South Carolina. As an experienced emergency room nurse who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, she became actively involved in the specialty of forensic nursing first in the area of sexual assault then as a death investigator. Coroner O'Neal has been a death investigator since 1998 and is currently the President of the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME) and the President of the South Carolina Coroner's Association (SCCA). She is the author of the book "Investigating Infant Deaths" and has had the unfortunate distinction of working two mass fatalities in the Charleston area to include the massacre at the Mother Emanual Church.

I am so excited for you all to hear her nursing story and learn more about this unexpected (at least for me) specialty within the nursing profession.
