George Scott was born in Aberdeen 25th October, 1944. George went to St Paul Street Primary School and then Middle Secondary School. A talented footballer, he represented Aberdeen Schools and was selected for Scotland Schools but was unable to play due to injury. The caretaker of his school, Jim Lornie, the former St Mirren goalkeeper, was a scout for Liverpool and he suggested to Bill Shankly, the new manager of the club, that he should take a look at this promising striker and that’s where it all began.
