The Pied Piper of Hamelin:

The Pied Piper of Hamelin is the name of a legendary folktale about the Pied Piper who came to the rescue of a small little German town called Hamelin! The Pied Piper was hired by the town to use his magic pipe to stop the rat pandemic (not too dissimilar to the Covid-19 Pandemic). However, when the town's mayor refused to pay for the Pied Piper's services, the Pied Piper took revenge and used the magic pipe once more to take the town's children away forever!

About Robert Browning:

Robert Browning was a prolific Victorian-era poet and playwright. He is widely recognized as a master of dramatic monologue and psychological portraiture. According to Wikipedia, He was noted for irony, characterization, dark humour, social commentary, historical settings and challenging vocabulary and syntax (The same writing style I employed when re-telling the Pied Piper of Hamelin in the new book!).  He has come to be regarded as one of the most important English poets of the Victorian period.
