the PARABLE of the Prodigal Son is famous for revealing the AMAZING LOVE AND COMPASSION OF GOD for all of us. a parallel of a people who have gone astray and seeked for life away from HOME. only to end up at a dead end. But this parable also reveals and exploits the negative mindset and prideful heart of the elder brother. The one who didn’t have any compassion. the One who was Self righteous. it’s sorta wild how the elder brother that “stayed by his side”, was actually just as lost as the younger brother . the Good news is, GOD still calls both of them “son”. So no matter how we feel, whether feeling guilt in the pigslop, or self righteous sitting with perfect church attendance and “have never done wrong”… there’s mercy for both parties.
