The definition of a friend is “one attached to another by affection or esteem.” Today you will meet my “Forever Friend,” Dr. Fanta McMullen. We connected at the tender age of 18 and our friendship has lasted over the years. She has seen me in ways that many haven’t - at my best, my worst and all levels in between. Fanta is my friend of a lifetime, both forgiving and faithful.
Today, we’ll share the story that I affectionately call “2 Students & A Baby.” Fanta was a Teen Mom. She learned she was pregnant shortly after we met. My commitment to Fanta was I would help her as long as she was helping herself. We forged a bond and when our sophomore year of college began, we moved in as roommates – the three of us, me, Fanta, and the baby. We have so many stories of figuring out the whole “care for a baby” thing together. We juggled schedules, routines, and diapers. But most impressive was Fanta’s determination to not let this life change stop her education goals.
During this episode, you will discover the power of friendship. Fanta’s story is a testimony of Success SuperPower #1, See Yourself Successful. She accomplished her goals and went on to achieve many more. We celebrate her success.
