Paul writes from prison, encouraging Timothy to be bold in his faith and to not be ashamed of the gospel or of Paul’s imprisonment. He reminds Timothy of his sincere faith and calls him to fan into flame the gift of God. Paul urges him to guard the gospel through the Holy Spirit and to remain loyal, even when others have turned away.
