Why ‘THETA’? At 4-8hz, the theta brainwaves are the slower of the brainwaves, typically firing when we are in spaces of routine, introspection, flow, creativity, mind-body connection, and ease.
Based in the heart of Toronto, THETA was created as a way to bring mindful movement, approachable spirituality and heart-centered community to those of us that live a busy, urban lifestyle. We believe that connecting deeper to ourselves and beyond (or ‘spirituality’), should not be intimidating or unwelcoming. You won’t find us in all white chanting around open flames to a higher power. You will, however, find us in safe circles with the intent to connect to the deeper parts of ourselves and to one another, engaging in the healing tools of sound, sharing, breath, movement, meditation and journaling. Our goal is to bring these approachable and healing practices to the world, one circle at a time.
THETA is a safe space. THETA is inclusive of all. THETA is home. It is a space of healing, of moving, of breathing, and of loving. A space free of judgment, self and outward. A place of vulnerability. A space of mind-body connection - to self, the Earth and community.
As a female and queer-owned space, we cherish and celebrate diversity.
